Ryan Bingham's debut (2007's Mescalito) came as such a surprise-not only
was it his first album, but he'd fallen in to music as much as a career
choice as a calling, yet managed to put out an album that rang every bit
as true as any of the Texas legends to whom he's been compared-that you
almost had to expect his follow-up to fall short of its predecessor.
Amazingly, Roadhouse Sun is not just Mescalito's equal but its better.
