Despite being steeped in the lo-fi folk tradition, literate young troubadour Johnny Flynn's debut still fells lissom and fresh. With backing from his band the Sussex Wit, banjo, cello and fiddle embellish his obliquely poetic tales with magical results. Spooksome, elegant and, at times, rollicking, the 13-tracks are something to be cherished.
