My job is to listen to new music and spread the word about what I think is good. Even so, it's rare that I tell every single person I know about a CD, but that's what I'm doing with the new Willie Nelson disc. This isn't just the best Willie album in awhile, but it's one of his best. The influence of the Kennys (Chesney, who co-produced, and Big Kenny, from Big & Rich, who wrote "The Bob Song") worried some, but it results in a fresh sound that complements the traditional and good-as-ever Nelson penned songs. Add Willie's take on Dave Matthews' "Gravedigger" and Bob Dylan's "You Gotta Serve Somebody," and you've got the first can't-miss CD of 2008.
