Dry Patter & Whiskey-Bottle-Bottom Voice
After this summer's performance at Cambridge Folk Festival, Maverick Magazine's Hazel Davis has some very nice things to say about Hayes Carll:
"...Wry Texas singer Hayes Carll won the audience over on Friday with his dry patter and whiskey-bottle-bottom voice and again in an entirely different set on Saturday. His songs ranged from the downright hilarious "She Left Me For Jesus" to the touching and elegantly written "Drunken Poet's Dream", but all were delivered with a wry smile and a twinkle."
We agree.
